Anne Renshaw is an Edinburgh based folksinger/songwriter originally from the Scottish Borders who sings and plays her own material but also any other songs that happen to take her fancy. These tend to be from the Scottish tradition but can be more recent folk songs from anywhere really. She has even been known to come out with the very occasional ‘pop’ song! Very much a latecomer to the folk scene, having only started writing and performing after she got early retirement from teaching in 2006, she is now doing her best to make up for lost time. Her debut album Awakening features a selection of her own songs including ‘The Isle of Arran’ and the much requested ‘The Number 37’.
