The eagerly-awaited second album from Scottish Gaelic singer Kathleen MacInnes: Cille Bhrìde. The 14 track album, released on Kathleen’s own label K.MAC Recordings, showcases her unique vocal style with excellent accompaniments including Iain MacDonald (who also produced the album), Ross Martin, Iain MacFarlane, Laoise Kelly, Donald Shaw, Michael McGoldrick, Allan Henderson, Bela Fleck, Cathy Ann MacPhee and Sineag MacIntyre. The title is explained in the liner notes by Kathleen herself; Cille Bhrìde means Church of Saint Bride. Saint Bride is popularly referred to as Moire nan Gaidheal and gave her name to the Hebrides. Cille Bhrìde is also a beautiful township of South Uist where my mother came from.”
“Kathleen has a very natural, powerful voice! Beautiful!” Sir Ridley Scott
